I'm still tying classic flies from the Orvis Index with classic materials and methods.

Sow Bug

Then the book got into the Caddis fly larva patterns. The trout where I ice fish are really hitting Caddis Fly larva so instead of tying the varieties that were in the book, I tied patterns that look more like the bugs in the stomachs of the fish I was catching. The Caddis here have blue green bodies and use water grasses for their cases. So here some of them are with cases and without,

Next the book got into the Streamers.

The Black Nosed Dace. The Orvis Index called for a Mylar tube body, a red thread tag and white bucktail, black squirrel and brown bucktail.

Bad Ass photography Mark!

I can tell you picked up a ringlight.

Don't you just love the way it gives you that shadowless look?

Kind of intimidating also. No place to hide poor technique, at least for me.

Excellent!

Thanks buddy. Actually, I had the ring light all along, it was one of those with the magnifying glass in the middle of it that I never use. I decided to pop the glass out and give it a try. What a difference it makes.

Thanks again, I appreciate it.
