A few changes to one I found on the interweb; swapped out golden pheasant tippet tail with moose body for a bit more floatation. A calf tail wing for those who prefer to tie on the natch.

 

hook Dai Riki 300 #10

thread - Danville 6/0 red

tail - moose body hair

body - peacock herl/red thread mid-section

loop - UTC 140 red

hackle - grizzly/brown (undersized by 1)

wing - Congo Hair white

 

 

 

Mash barb, start thread at 3/4 mark

Tie in a hank of CH; trim butts, cover with thread, wrap to bend

Clean, stack, measure (shank length) a small clump of moose body hair; trim butts at junction with wing bump/tie in
