    G LOOMIS

Has anyone else heard that Gloomis is closing they're doors. A fella was responding to one of my questions and mentioned that they were going under. It almost seems possible after what I had to go through to get a replacement rod (temperary though). When I broke my 4wt. I found out it had been discontinued so I had to go with it's equivilent. now coming into dry fly season you would think they would be crankin out 4wt.'s like mad men. Needless to say I was told I was going t have to wait up to a couple of months for my rod. As you can guess I was pretty pissed and they werent offering to do much(other than offer me a lower end rod). Finally after a lot of phone tag I go in contact with one of the higher ups and he sent me a temperary rod of greater value for an up coming trip. However he wants me to send it back after my trip, then wait some more for my replacment rod. Now i'm hearing rumors that they'er closing shop so I'm a little nervous to send this rod back, when I get back. So has anyone else heard this rumor.
  3. So I was out fishing today in the wonderful sun shine, when I broke my Gloomis. has any one out there had to deal wit this guys on warrenty work. I'm curious how they are to deal with? :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:
  4. I bought a Cloudveil 8x guide jacket this year. It's gore-tex, has great placed pockets with lots of room for boxes. it also has neoprene cuffs that fit tight and don't need adjustment (probaly the best system out there). i would have to say it's a better coat than the g3 and the pantigonia but thats just me i guess. all around it's a sweet jacket i've used it all year in the canadian winter and spring, with zero complants. check out seirratradingpost.com they've been getting them in at insane prices.
  5. does anyone out there know how to tie up moose hair skaters. it looks really simple from the pics yet i can't seem to get it. :wallbash:
  6. the elk hair is a great fly, but you'll have better luck with a cdc caddis. use cdc dubbed on for the body (no ribbing or hackle) and use cdc for the wing too. it's super fast to tie, floats like crazy and actually looks great everytime (to you and the fish). good luck
  7. does anyone have some new ideas for bull trout flies. Need some fresh ideas.
