  1. Excellent job on the magazine guys! Since downloading the issue the first week it was available I have printed in hardcopy and read through it at least a dozen times. I look forward to future issues and wish you guys good luck in making a great item better! Thanks, ....ron ps what is the publishing schedule? I have been unable to locate that anywhere.
  2. I don't know anybody whose ever done that....
  3. I have been fishing Klinksclusively for about the last 3 years and swear by them. In various colors they work for just about every situation here in S.W. Alberta. Olive Klinkhamers are by far my favorite. Thanks for posting.
  4. Those flies are amazing! Truly works of art.
  5. This was a great read. Keep these articles coming! Thanks,
  6. Looks great. Can't wait to browse Issue One. Is it going to be a PDF mag or an HTML Online mag? Good luck and have fun.
  7. Hey Takezo, welcome!! Fish the Kettle R. much? Last time I was out that way, I managed to fish it. It was late in the the summer and the water was warming up tho. Still a nice fishery! ....troutchaser

  9. Nice to see another Bow River fisher on the forum. Welcome aboard!! Today looks like it will be another nice day to get out on the Bow. Too bad I'm stuck here in the office. ....troutchaser
  10. Originally the heart of the Kootenays in BC, now call Calgary, AB home.
  11. Carl, I was using nickle silver ferrules that Tony Young (AV Young) was making. I had a number of sets and have used them all up now. I heard he has since checked out and moved to Tasmania. Not sure of his rod making status now. Since then I have a fella here that has a cnc lathe that turned out a few sets for me. I just need to bring the cost down now. Do you know if Grindstone Anglers is still making or selling planing forms? Thanks, ....ron
  12. Hey guys. My Name is Ron and my handle is Troutchaser. I've been fishing trout in BC and Alberta for almost 40 yrs. I've been tying my own flies since I was 13 but I have never tied commercially (not sure if I ever want to). I build bamboo rods and I have the best test facility right outside my door, the Bow River. Even tho I live within steps of the Bow I still prefer to fish the small remote waters in the foothills and mountains of Alberta and BC. There's nothing like catching a nicely coloured 18-20 inch Cutthroat that is golden on the belly on a rod you handmade. I found this site while I was researching new vises and have already used 2 tips found in the forums. That's it for now. ....ron
