Some dragons around my pond

Here are some pictures of different dragon flies around my pond-took them while I was fishing.Can someone help me identify these gorgeous things?Thanks Steven

By the way-The spider is a golden silk I believe(a species of orb?)

Wy to go good to look at,

 

...in the shape I'm in. Its Friday night and I dont have to go to work until 4:30 am cripes its 1/4 after 2am, Weekends are HARDER then me!!!, LOL!! . I just put on some CCR ....you know , great pics, keep them comming...and all the great flies,

Now its 4:00am and I am wondering what you are going to tie crazy!!

Did you ever wonder if guys like Blacker looked at insects, as you have in your pics, when they tied there preties?

I'm sure other more qualified folks will chime in before too long but I believe the first 3 pics are damsel flies. :dunno:

yea, i like the dragon flies, but you could teach a fly how to tie flies and i would still hate them.... i mean be deathly afraid of them...

I read an entomology forum called

 

insectnet.com

 

they have a "what bug is this?" forum where you can post your pics, and somebody will know to the species and subspecies what you have.

 

maddog is right, the first three are damsels. I'm not real good with the odonata, lepidoptera are my major focus. Those are some really great photos too!

You're right on the first 3 pics: damsels (Order Odonata, suborder Zygoptera (sp?). The others (except the spider) are true dragon flies: suborder Anisoptera (sp?). I haven't had to spell those in a long time! Great pics! Keep them coming!
