  1. I don't really have any suggestions on your fly I think it looks good, but I've never seen a juvenille carp. The only thing I'd suggest is try some of the ideas that have already been mention and any that you are playing around with then let the fish decide what is best. Good luck let us know how it turns out. How do you get the jungle cock to lay so flat. I've tried to use those for eyes on some big deceivers I tied for muskie but mine always twist when I tie them in. Do I need to smash the stem flat or what?
  2. I use finger nail polish. Seems to work fine for me. If I use a marker I usually coat it with hard as nails or any clear nail polish, this also gives it a nice shine.
  3. QUOTE (mhackney @ Mar 7 2005, 09:48 AM) What pattern do you fish for the lbs? mhackney, Thanks for the link. I don't really throw many dries so I don't have any good dries to share, but I like to use a copper john 16-18 tied in black for the nymph and have had moderate success. I think I have a picture in my album of a brown I caught on Kish Creek 2 weeks ago on that very nymph.
  4. It becomes a dobson fly here's a picture.Eastern Dobson Fly
  5. Nice pics. Do you know what kind of caddis that first yellow one is?
  6. Thanks for the step by step. I appreciate it. I'm going to try tying some today.
  7. Cool fly. Could you maybe explain how to palmer marabou on a needle and then tie it in this fly. I don't know how and I'd really like to tie some of these.
  8. Good luck skunked I've been smoke free a little over 3 years. The toughest thing I've ever done. I still get cravings to this day. I use nicorette. It worked for me, but I really wanted to quit. I still make sure I have a couple of pieces of nicorette to tackle those days when I want to break. May the force be with you.
  9. QUOTE (skunked @ Feb 19 2005, 04:13 PM) What size/style hook is that? NIce fly dude Bob Clouser deserves the credit for this fly, at least I think this is one of his flies. He also has a crippled pattern tied with a deer hair head but this is much easier. The hook is a mustad 3366 #2 and the foam bug bodies are a #4.
  10. Welcome from Central Pa. I fish Penns a lot. It's a great place. Nice to have you back. I didn't know you could burn out in this sport.
  11. Welcome from central Pa. This is a great site. Everyone is very helpful. Don't be afraid to ask questions and share tips and flies.
  12. That's great fly. LaFontaines rules!
  13. I was just looking through the database for some ideas for bass flies and didn't see this one. Just thought it should be in there.
