Rocco 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2019 My local Hobby Lobby only had the silver, gold, and red tinsels. Went to their inet store and found the other color, somewhat wavy, Rainbow Lanetta tinsels -- SKU 5279617 --and a holograph silver tinsel -- SKU 6522544 -- on sale for $.99! A good chance to load up for life. Rocco
Philly 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2019 Nice, Denduke. They remind me of some of the lures we used to use when trolling off shore for tuna. It was cheaper to buy the heads and skirts and put together the colors that you wanted than buying the whole lure. A simpler version is Bob's Banger which is just a soft foam cylinder which can be wrapped in foil or colored and a dressed hook or teaser similar to the ones in the bottom picture. Useful when your fishing for bluefish.
Guest Report post Posted October 19, 2019 Years ago got this, all colors, somewhere. Cant find it anymore. People dont use icicles like they used too. Rocco they got the pearl too. More like WarmBlueWater. Prolly need something more substantial for teethy bluefish. We consider bluefish trash down here in the gulf when they show up. The body wraps are from pompoms from DollarTree over a powdered glitter base.
Philly 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2019 Blues aren't much of an eating fish. I'll keep small ones in the 10 to 16 inch range. You can't really freeze them for future use. We have them all over the place up here. They're fun on any tackle. In the late spring and fall you can get them up to 20 lbs.
Rocco 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2019 Try smoked blues. Done over wood chips. Good stuff. My kids and their pals would devour them as fast as I could make them. Of course smoked newspaper would have also disappeared with them in the house. Rocco
Philly 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2019 When I my smoker was working, I smoked several bluefish(4 or 5 lb ones). Very tasty. Not quite up to smoked salmon or trout but tasty.
TIER 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2019 Never eat smoked dog salmon. They're bad eating. NOW SILVERS ARE DE BEST!
