Rubber Leg Copper John Revision

I've been tying my rubber leg copper johns a little differently than the first video I put out. Here is the updated version I'm using.

 

Rubber Leg Copper John 2
Hook: 10-14 Scud
Tail: Brown Goose Biots
Body: Brassie Copper Wire
Legs: Small Brown Rubber Legs
Thorax: Peacock Herl
Wing Case: Black Thin Skin & Pearl Tinsel
Thread: 70 Black

Wicked pattern, just finished tying a half dozen in size 10, now to get a little smaller...thanks for sharing!

Hammer, what camera are you shooting those photos with?? Those are fantastic. And, I love that pattern by the way. I haven't watched the video yet, but are you using epoxy on the back? Or some other liquid?

I appreciate the feedback. The camera I used is an Olympus Tough. Same one I record the video with and take on to the stream. I did a review on my site if you are interested you can check it out HERE.Thanks for the kind words on the pattern I use a loctite product, but any epoxy or clear cure goo will do the trick!

Another of many fine videos. Question--Do you ever use a small piece of lead wire to hold materials like the rubber legs out of the way? It sure would make tying the last part of the fly a little quicker. Then you could pull it off and use it to start the next one.

Thanks! I do use scrap wire at times or masking tape and I always have an alligator vlip lyong around somewhere! Thanks for checking it out!
