j8000, there is 6/0 thread and there is 6/0 thread, neither the same. For instance, Danville 6/0 is about the size but flatter than Uni 8/0 ( yes I said 8/0) and Uni 6/0 is about like 140 D- UTC. UTC- 70 D is closer to Danville 6/0.

A single 4 turn whip should not unravel. I've tied many a dry fly with 4 turn whips and no head cement on them and not had them unravel. Properly tied and pulled down nice and snug. Some of my streamer flies I use for trolling do get either a 5 turn whip or a 4 turn followed by 3 then head cemented. These are for toothy predator fish who like to swipe the fly or bait and strip feathers or scales then let go LOL..

I need some purple floss, I really liked the looks of that Purple Rat that was popping up all afternoon in the data base. I have Rusty Rats and Green Rats, might as well add purple ! But ya, more thread isn't a bad thing for sure.

Never thought I'd see a Miley Cyrus reference on this site.

Well done.

I'm a little scared that you knew it was a Miley reference.

A quick search came up with: Cyrus is one of these Hollywood female pop singer types, got escorted to go vote, VIP treatment at the voting pole, threatened to leave the US if Trump won. Blah Blah etc etc...  Then there were youtube videos that I didn't click on. It was just a quick search because I had no clue who she was either, and as it turns out, it seems I wasn't missing anything. At least from the gist of the search results.

Oh yeah ... the silly little girl that can't keep her tongue in her mouth.

I've got a cousin, with "learning disabilities" that's always sticking his tongue out, too.

Sorry, j8000 ... didn't mean to hijack your introduction thread.

Welcome to the site, again.

I'm a little amused that people think that not knowing things is something to be proud of.

Can't say I feel too ashamed to know something about one of the most well-known celebrities of the past 5 years...don't even have to be a fan to know that much.:dunno:

THIS TRUE: Must confess to ignorance on this post, saw it on a FakeBook post, from one of my college -age girls' friend, who replied to my Question, with this hashtag, when I asked them why they were posting pictures of otters and piglets (???) & not interacting with their 700+ "Friends." FYI I am into 7th decade agewise and never heard a single song of Miley but it seemed right for us flytying fiends.

Maybe this proves something I once told my college students: If you steal ideas from one person it is plagarism, if you steal ideas from everyone THAT's academics. This site is truly academic, and I hope my grammar and punctuation is good or Mikechell could chew me out like Flats Roamer (though I agree with Mike on this because internet writings live forever) whose mispelling of 'piece' may have a half-life of 13,000 years and in a minor way, does not cast him in a good light.

So, peace out

I hope your opinion of Miley Cyrus as an artist is at least a little lower yet.
