  1. These are probably the coolest I have tied.
  2. I use one and find it useful. You can always use the hook gap as a gauge also. Hackle is normally 1 to 1 1/2 times the hook gauge.
  3. Been stocking up the soft hackles lately. Quill body BWO SH #18 Olive Hares Ear SH #16
  4. I use this one for bass. Its been pretty effective
  5. Two of my favorites: Rosenbauer's Rabbit Foot emerger Silvey's Caddis
  6. I normally add split shot above it or use the San Juan as a dropper behind a weighted nymph.
  7. I tie LOTS of thread body flies. There are lots of different threads at crafts stores that create different body styles/sizes. As said before, I find it better to coat with Sally Hansen before wrapping the thread. IMHO it tends to darken the color too much if applied after.
  8. My favorite is the one the fish like the best
  9. Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!
  10. Congrats on some beautiful fish guys! Bet your arms were tired after those fights! I went salmon fishing for the first time in Aug . Hit the sockeye run on the upper Kenai in Alaska. They weren't as big as those but man what a fight! Jacked my camera up so they are a little blurry. http://i780.photobucket.com/albums/yy90/fairwaysgreens72/Alaska2013109_zps36122dba.jpg http://i780.photobucket.com/albums/yy90/fairwaysgreens72/Alaska2013083_zps136558dc.jpg http://i780.photobucket.com/albums/yy90/fairwaysgreens72/Alaska2013078_zps37bcef0a.jpg Fiancee got in on the action too! http://i780.photobucket.com/albums/yy90/fairwaysgreens72/Alaska2013087_zpsecf32542.jpg
