ChuckingFluff 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2010 My most productive one this year was an olive with a gold bead. Followed closely by purple with a gold cone.
tidewaterfly 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2010 Olive, black, white, brown, purple, chartreuse & occasionally yellow. These are the only colors I use any more, but I do tie with different materials (chenille, yarn, estaz, etc.) & sometimes combination of these colors. If you really want to learn about buggers, get a copy of the book "Woolly Wisdom" by Gary Soucie.

JSzymczyk 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2010 I don't see Olive and Black up there---the classic coloring which is my favorite. :punk: black tail with a little flash, olive body, black hackle. I've caught everything I can think of in fresh water in the USA on that pattern. Not saying others aren't good, because just about every color and color combo will work, but black/olive/black is a confidence fly.
