Philly 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2018 Half of these were tied yesterday and half today. Some sliders made out of those double barrel popper bodies. Wasn't really happy with the bodies a pain in the butt to get legs through and get a hole through the body to get the hook in. A couple of group shots. a couple of the individual ones. vicente 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2018 Very nice flytire, I thought these looked easy, but man I've never had such a simple looking fly make me feel more like an idiot.

Rocco 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2018 Mickey Finns have done great work for me on perch, the basses, trout to include steel head ,and GL salmon. For a simple fly, it is a challenge to get it right.. The biggest materials problem I have is finding fine deer hair dyed a deep vibrant red. Many reds now are washed out shading off to pink or orange. I see the real thing it I buy it. The tying technique hurdles are to get the proportions right -- 1/2 yellow, over 1/4 red over 1/4 yellow;make a distinct break between the segments; keep it sparse; and manage a neat tapered head.
