One of the first flies I ever fished, but, with a red hackle tail. And the Grey Hackle peacock, also with red tail. Lance Egan's Red Dart reminds me a lot of that fly, a new version.

I have named attractor nymphs, a Stillwater fly developed over 20 years ago, and a streamer. All but the streamer have been proven effective, especially the Stillwater fly.

Have used the white congo hair for my Chubby wings. Good stuff. Have to try the Starburst dubbing.

The new batch, gold brown deer hair/root beer krystal flash wings, foam door knob hanger from Michael's on a couple of them, with Sharpie stripes. Some gold antron under bodies, no eyes.

Thanks for the tip on the materials! I'm investigating the thin skin I have stored and have already tied some deer hair wings. I have a nice golden brown died patch. I'm using different colors of krystal flash with it.

Thanks for the tip. Any thoughts out there about a Sharpie v. a Prisma marker? Or not much difference in the color lasting?

Your pics do not open, just stay as thumbnails. I'd like to check them out.

Wow, lotsa creativity here. Thanks for the ideas on the eyes. I'm thinking about simplifying the pattern, not sure about the wings. I really like the Williams pattern on this site, and the Flathead Cicada. These are labor intensive, though I got faster with every one. Thanks guys.

Here's some that I am still tweaking. Tested them last Sunday. Some drawbacks: the foam packing material for the wings absorbs water, just a little, it's not that thick, and, it did not hold the permanent marker color after a few drifts. Also, the glass bead eyes didn't bond to the foam and dropped off. I used Zap a Gap. I'm still re-engineering, the profile is not right. They fooled two rainbows and got some swirling, quick circles from a couple of fish. Used it as an indicator for a nice dropper that nabbed a big rainbow. They will improve for the next trip in two weeks. Couple of tier have already given me some ideas on them on the Warmwater Species section. I welcome more. Thanks to all who share their patterns.

Thanks for the underside photo, great idea using the varigated chenille.

Try mylar wrapping paper for the wings or used dryer sheets and try clipped off stick pins (leave 1/4 to 1/2 inch metal stub) for the eyes glue in with super glue and add a top coat of (epoxy, shoe goop, flexement, goop, Aleene's fabric fusion pick one) Nice looking flies I thought about the pins for eyes, clipped short. Good tip and thanks for the wing info.

It worked well on the 'bows! I used a copper bead and rainbow scud dub for the thorax. Thanks again for the submission.
