  1. Hi! Last year I took part in MSO for the first time and I'm planning to continue sending my flies to MSO. I got this e-mail from OT.Ljostad a couple of days ago: Dear flytier. I would like to remind you about the Mustad Scandinavian Open Flytying competition 2010, and we hope that you will participate in the competition. The deadline for the competition is January 31st, but all flies that we receive before the jurymeeting on March 13. - 14th will enter the competition, so you have plenty of time to tie your creative patterns. If you need some Mustad hooks, we will be glad to send you some. Flyfishing greetings OT. Ljostad [email protected] tlf: 62409012/ 95998557 So accordingly you have plenty of time. - Joel -
  2. *chuckle* Is that a good, or a bad thing, Jopeli? Cheers, Hans W Definitely a good thing
  3. That's quite an intriguing fly you have there Hans!
  4. Thanks, next week I shall focus on pupae :gun_bandana:
  5. Hello! I'm in a bit of a trouble at this moment, because during the winter i sold all my flies. This is the box that contains my wet flies. Quite sad, isn't it ? My dry fly situation isn't any better. I have 13 of them and they are all the same :crying: Here's a link to my dry fly: http://perhorasia.fi/Fly/Fly.thtml?flyID=18334 ( It's a step by step ) I have only one big trip coming on this summer ( a trip to the Swedish parts of Lapland ) before joining the army, so I really have to speed up the pace. However, university's entrance examination takes its time too There are too many obstacles between me and my favourite hobby
  6. Hi! I also have a problem finding the results from previous years (-05, -06, -07). :help: Joel Edit: Okay, now I'm missing only the results from -07 Found the others http://www.flytyingforum.com/index.php?showtopic=12864 EDITEDIT: Sorry, it's not the results I'm looking for. Just want to observe the flies.
  7. Thank you guys! Bruce, thanks for the tip. From now on I shall post my flies on the classic forum.
  8. The first one ... ... and the second one. This kind of flies are quite difficult to tie. At least for me :help: Maybe that's why I'm so fascinated by them.
  9. I rely on our summer cottage. It's good to have a set of clean and clear windows
  10. I use a needle and silicone to make an extended body. Few pics.... At first, apply silicone on to the needle. Then it's time to dub the first layer of the body. After that I take my tying thread and secure the body. Then I tie in ..... hmmmm.... don't know the word..... the back-antennae-stuff :help: Then I separate the back-antennae-stuff with thread wraps Finally, I add a bit of silicone on to the body and dub the rest of it without using my tying thread, like when I started making the body. Then I use the thread to make segments to the body and that's it. If I feel lazy I just use silicone and dubbing. Those bodies can also be used in pupae.
  11. Thanks Fred, but I hope you noticed that the fly you're talking about is mainly a piece of hazel grouse's toe skin tied on a hook. I feel like cheating
  12. I'm glad you like my flies arkle. I'm trying to improve, but the oncoming matriculation examination and entrance examinations to universities may slow me down This forum also helps me with my English :scooter:
  13. Thanks! Yeah, that gray one is quite realistic and I'm free to say that, because I didn't develop it. It was developed by a Finnish FQSA Master Tyer whose nick on a one Finnish forum (TAOFT) is ismos. Unfortunately I don't remember his real name Uffepuffe's flies really are beautiful. He's also a member on that same Finnish forum and sometimes adds there a fly or two. That Swede knows how to tie flies :boxing: Maybe my flies resemble a little bit of his , because I've seen his creations since I started tying or maybe it's the Scandinavian style of tying flies
