George Grant Books

Has anyone read all three George Grant books? Are they each very different? Which is best for all purpose woven hackle, woven body, grant style body (pins, mono over patterned feather)?

i dont have the 'master fly weaver' thats why i didnt mention it

 

youre on your own on that one smile.png

 

even used books are over $100. too expensive for me

 

the actual weaving process and the body making process with the pins etc is spelled out in the first book i mentioned

The Winter 2004 issue Fly Tyer magazine had a very large article on tying George Grant style flies. Lots of pictures, info, and step by steps.

I have all three books and think the hard-bound version is the best but all three are very informative. The hard-bound version varies in price from $750 for a 1st edition to about $100 for one of the subsequent editions. We are currently working on a book on weaving and braiding flies. As it happens, the George Grant chapter (9) after the one we're currently working on is next. We expect the book will be done sometime early in 2020. We'll announcing it when available. Take care & ...
