  1. HI Ortho004 I'm a former Minnesotan just moved to Billings,MT. Do some local research on the "Greatwater Expo" in Mpls it should be coming up soon on the calendar. It is a great Fly Tying Expo and Fly fishing event held on the south side of town in Bloomington. A good place to pick up materials. Also there is a club called the St Paul Fly Tiers Assoc. to look into also. and I believe the meet close to the U of M. Regards, Chris
  2. Just found FTOTY what a great resource! I'm Christopher Buller and almost 40 years of age in 27 days. We relocated to Billings,MT from Eden Prairie,MN in July of 2008 after my lovely wife received a great promotion for GE. So we are fortunate to have landed in "Gods Country" for sure. I'm a novice tier and have been tying for about 3 years now since my Dad gave me an Orvis starter kit for my birthday. From there it has expanded to a rotary vise with a dedicated desk with an ever expanding inventory of tying supplies and tools. I also train upland gun dogs for tests in the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA) We currently have a 3 year old Wirehaired Pointing Griffon and a 1 year old English Pointer. They are both great resources for obtaining feathers for tying I have come to find out. Nothing better than to collect your own feathers from Huns,Quail,Pheasants, and Ducks. We are wrapping up the Upland Bird and Waterfowl season here in Montana. So now it is time to start ramping up for the 2009 Tying & Fishing season in my household. I'm a machinst by trade and now work in Laurel,MT for Woods Powr' Grip before that I worked for a plastics co. in the Twin Cities of MN. We have two great boys 12 & 7 years of age with the twelve year old learning to fly fish with his mother and I. We are very fortunate to have relocated to one of the best Fly fishing areas in the world. With the Bighorn, Yellowstone, Clarks Fork Yellowstone so close by. Also many more rivers & mountain lakes to explore next summer. Best Regards to all I hope to expand my tying experience and knowledge from this site and to contribute when I can. Chris Buller
