  1. Hi! Will be leaving early tomrrow, 6/17/11, for Taylor Park to fish the Hog Trough, Willow Creek, Texas Creek, and the Upper Taylor River, Colorado. Has anyone fished there the last several days? Any personal reports anyone wants to share? With absolute record-breaking snowfall, the runoff has made most rivers in the Western part of Colorado virtually unfishable... but friends tell me (as do online fishing reports) that the Taylor is fishing well, at least the Hog Trough (first 1/4 mile below the dam... C&R only area) and the Upper Taylor is fishing well, as well as Willow Creek (probably my favorite place to fish!) Thanks, in advance, if anyone has any information! Kim
  2. It's really easy to tie! Takes me about 90 seconds or so to tie it. It mimics anything from a BWO to a Green Drake. This is my "go to fly" almost any cloudy day.
  3. Extended Body BWO. Great for Western Rivers, creeks, streams, and even lakes/ponds! For the extended body, I used olive damsel fly body material. TMC 5212 size 16 hook. Black 8/0 thread. Olive dubbing. Antron for wings. Grizzly hackle, about five or six turns... makes for a more 'buggier' fly. Give it a little head and whip-finish. Apply a little head cement to make it more durable. Douse it with lots of floatant, let it dry, and douse it again... makes it float really well. Takes me about 90-seconds to tie this fly. It fishes very well from spring to late fall.
