NJ All Day 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2011 Went to Maine for a week. It was beautiful the highest it was 85 degrees, while back in NJ it was 100's so i was happy to just sit on the screened deck and read a magazine or do a puzzle. My view the second night. The view off the dock during the day. Third cast in, and first fish. She really liked the clouser minnow. We went to the Coast to do some Fishing, this is at Popham Beach Fort. My dad caught only one Mackerel, not worth keeping. Looking towards the ocean. Looking up the Kennebec River. Went and fished a little stream, called The Crooked River. Caught some 6" landlock salmon which were really cool to look at. They were also very pretty, i tried to get some pictures of them but all of them were camera shy. My last day there. Did catch some other smaller fish, but never got any pictures of them either they were camera shy, or i didnt have the camera on me at the point. But hopefully i can make it back next year. If i'm not to busy with college and life.
mainesean2 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2011 Didn't expect to see a post about Waterford. That's my hometown i've lived in my whole life (20yrs). Is that Bear Pond you stayed on? The Crooked is a great stream. Gets some huge salmon from Sebago in the fall and spring as well as having some native brookies in the upper stretches. Another area worth trying is the Androscroggin in Gilead where the Wild dumps in. Rising fish every night through out the summer. Hit me up if you ever come back to Waterford and i'll give you some local knowledge.
