Hairwing Atlantic Salmon Flies

Recommended Posts

Nice!

Quick question: How do you determine where the tag goes in relation to the hook point? Is it part of a standard recipe or, like you mentioned in regards to the direction of ribbing, is it from a reference fly? Is it kind of up to the tyer...an aesthetics thing?

i use a reference fly as a guide such as a photo from the web, youtube or book and a little by eye

fly recipes come from the web and books also

i have been watching this channel for hairwing salmon flies on youtube (i dont like the music or the speed tying but i can still follow his tying smile.png)

Thank you.
