Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2004 This isnt exactly going to work for doing bass flies or large amounts of hair but if you've ever been on a trip and found that you left your stacker at home and dont want to buy another one just for the weekend trip try this. If you just need to even out the fibers for a mayfly tail or something small like that take a plastic straw and cut off about a couple inches of it then stand it on the table and drop the small hairs for the tail in it and give a few taps to get the fibers to the bottom. You can pinch the straw so you can pick it up off the table without losing the fibers and release the straw to get them to slide out. Kinda a poor mans stacker but it works in a pinch and will get ya by for that one night of tying. SD
