Couple years into mine and have yet to fill all 24(?) pockets. Read better descriptions on other sites or look at the G3 Guide Vest as they are almost identical in design.

For years and years, I went through vest after vest after pack after pack. None of them quite did it for me. Finally, last winter, I went on a mission to find the be-all end-all, the perfect one for me. I did extensive research on dozens of chest, hip, and sling packs, and spent a lot of time comparing features, reading user reviews, talking to guides and fly shop owners, and even e-mailing some of the companies themselves. This is the pack that I landed on: https://vedavoo.com/product/beast-sling/

It's a little over your stated budget of $110, but I still think it's worth a look. I would encourage you to watch the video on the page I've provided a link to. It goes over some of the features of the pack that aren't obvious just from looking at it. The guy in the video is the owner of the company. One thing he doesn't mention in the video, but that was a big factor in my deciding to buy the pack, is that it's designed to leave the shoulder of your casting arm untouched by the pack. To that end, they build both right-handed and left-handed version of the pack.

I had to grit my teeth really hard to pay that much for a pack, but I have not regretted it for one second. I feel like I've found what I was looking for all those years. For what it's worth. smile.png

And I am glad you did Bryon, because I used your old one I bought from you the entire year last season and never even put my vest on at all last year :) lol

How often do you wade above your hips? If your wading that deep anything you get has a chance of getting wet. I have a 29.00 cabelas sling/waist pack that works great for me. My goal has always been to carry less not more.

Take a look at something like this https://reeltrail.com/listing/view/allen-gallatin-ultra-light-strap-pack-fishing-vest-186?gclid=Cj0KCQiAj4biBRC-ARIsAA4WaFgFQagnOR8kzh3CeqEmu-7CpKQnIbjD6ZsYbo26qrmIzwxWHqDRdA8aAhsnEALw_wcB

That's the same pack I got from Bryon last year. It's nice because it doesn't hang too low like a sling, has ample room, and is really comfortable on the hot summer days.

@feathers5 I edited to include my description, I guess that is being phased out

If you are going to wade deep make sure the chest waders have room to wear the vest inside them. But if you get in deeper than your elbows it gets hard to cast. If you want to carry just the minimum get a shirt with pockets. I've never got comfortable with the fanny packs or chest boxes, but everyone is different.

I can tell you that the Vedavoo Beast does not get wet when I wade in to my hips (which I rarely do). When I do, though, the bottom of the pack rests right above the small of my back, and I do not cinch the strap up nearly as tight as it can go. On the one occasion last season when I waded in to my waist, I just brought the pack around to my chest. The net dangled in the water a little, but the pack was well above water level.

Steve, I'm glad that vest pack that you bought from me has worked out for you. I actually liked that one the best of all the vests and packs I've had before my current one. You're right when you say it's great for hot weather, as it is essentially "backless". I liked that feature a lot.
