SBPatt 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2018 A few changes to one I found on the interweb; swapped out golden pheasant tippet tail with moose body for a bit more floatation. A calf tail wing for those who prefer to tie on the natch. hook Dai Riki 300 #10 thread - Danville 6/0 red tail - moose body hair body - peacock herl/red thread mid-section loop - UTC 140 red hackle - grizzly/brown (undersized by 1) wing - Congo Hair white Mash barb, start thread at 3/4 mark Tie in a hank of CH; trim butts, cover with thread, wrap to bend Clean, stack, measure (shank length) a small clump of moose body hair; trim butts at junction with wing bump/tie in Tie in peacock, wrap to hook point; tie off/trim Create thread mid-band Tie in loop Tie in hackles, hook loop onto gallows Wrap hackles up (distance to wing base), and back down; tie off at base/trim Stroke hackle fibers back Tie in peacock, wrap to wing base; tie off/trim Pull hackle forward; tie off at base of wing, trim Pull wing up, set angle with thread wraps Whip finish, SHHAN Trim wing Regards, Scott Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
