Jellystone

Recommended Posts

Jellystone -- snipped from a bass tube. Dimpled on a needle. Tied (loosely) to a thread-wrapped hook. Then glued in place. Legs sewn in with a rubberleg needle.

Some flies work better than others and it's not clear why. Why is a Prince Nymph so much better than so many other wet flies?

Why isn't clear in the Prince Nymph case but true it is.

This one--The Jellystone--is a fish catching machine in all types of water.

The big black Pteronarcys stonefly nymphs are stream bottom vegetarian detritus eaters that need cool clean highly oxygenated water to survive.

Golden Stoneflies are carnivores capable of surviving much further down the river, even in warm relatively silty conditions.

NOTE: some bass tubes are scented. Cheap Chinese tubes at bargain prices are not scented. That part is up to the tier.
