mikechell 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2017 Welcome to the site, Phat, from Central Florida. Although I've been to Vermont ... I haven't spent any "real" time there. What's the fishing environment like? Where do you fish and what do you fish for?

Philly 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2017 Welcome to the forum. My sister has a place between Ludlow and Andover and before that one in Plymouth Union. I try and get up there for a week or two each summer. I've been fishing that area for 35 years. I fish the local rivers, the Black, Ottauechee, and the Williams which have both wild and stocked browns and rainbows and the occasional brookie. Most of the feeder creeks have brookies. I've fished the White River too many times to count. Browns and Rainbows in the upper portion. Smallmouth in the lower portion. Though as I've gotten older I tend to fish the local lakes which have good populations of panfish, yellow perch, smallmouth and largemouth bass, trout and some pike and look for small feeder creeks to chase brook trout. If you're just starting out, local lakes are a good place to try. You never know what you might catch there.
Phat Daddy 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2017 Welcome to the site, Phat, from Central Florida. Although I've been to Vermont ... I haven't spent any "real" time there. What's the fishing environment like? Where do you fish and what do you fish for? I have mostly spent my time fishing for Bass in some of the lesser fished rivers. Mainly the West River which I grew up living on the banks of. I have spent some time years ago fishing for small brook trout in feeder streams to the West as well as in some the State parks, mostly Groton. I haven't fly fished seriously for years but really wanted to get back into it. I tied flies as a kid and look forward to getting back into that as well. I wish I had this forum as a kid, I never would have given up tying flies.
