  1. Bruce, Wonderful work with the deer hair. Thanks for posting. If you tie any more, I might have to pull out some deer hair. Unfortunately, mine will look that they were tied by a 6th grader. No offense to 6th graders. Tom
  2. Nick, I would like to, however we have some serious health issues in the house.
  3. PsychoPrince, As a former trombone player I am very interested in seeing the rusty trombone. I have several dusty trombones in my basement. Tom
  4. A rough sucker tied on 2 5/0 hooks.
  5. There were sessions and a lot of opportunities for kids. I took my 7 year old grandson and he tied his first fly in a booth. Lots of exceptional tyers and organizations. Plenty of old friends, which is important to expand to the next generation. He lasted two hours, which is an hour longer than my son predicted. Hope you can make it back in the future
  6. Is anyone going to the Fly Fishing Expo at Hamline University in St. Paul, MN this weekend? Tom
  7. LL, All the brushes I buy for muskies are 12”. When I make lures I put Flashabou on the coils and the coil has the wire inserted into it. Typically.040 or .051. The brushes have wire that is consistent with bass brushes, so I think 36 gauge would be fine. I typically wrap my brushes around my fly hooks. 5/0 - 6/0 for muskies and 2/0 - 3/0 for northerns. Tom
  8. Norm, Absolutely beautiful proportions on that Dr Breck. That is an amazing head you put on that fly. To
  9. Fruitrollup, Nice job on the caddis flies
  10. Me too. I build my own. I guess plus or minus $20.

    What’s cooking

Oh, does that look good. I can smell it all the way here.
  12. This year I built 20 of each of the lures. They have a 6/0 treble hook in the rear and an eight Colorado and a 9 Indiana blade. There is a one ounce weight, so they will cast like a bullet. 30 go to the MN HS Musky championship and the other 30 go to our Chapter’s tournament. I got a couple of grants to cover the materials.
