  1. Fire came within 3/10 of a mile from the village. I'm the PIO and spend a good deal of time dealing with reporters. Our place is fine but we learned our evacuation plan needs refinement. Ended up moving 10 draft horses at four in the morning instead of the day before like my wife wanted. Got stepped on for the mistake by one of our big girls who wasn't happy about the early morning move. Flies will be going out tomorrow. Thanks for the patience.
  2. Sorry about the delay. I was assigned to a wildfire for the past 9 days (Got evacuated too). I will mail them out tomorrow
  3. I got my issue and it is, once again, extremely well crafted and full of great information. It's the kind of magazine that you can read again and again. Well worth the wait and well worth the price.
  4. Bob-Didn't you get the memo? The swap date has been moved to October 10th. You have plenty of time. The swap won't go out till your flies arrive. Take care of important things first. Jim
  5. We're getting close to the countdown to finish. Looking forward to getting these flies back out to the tiers for some fall action. My mailing address is: Jim Wilkins PO Box 584 Wrightwood, CA 92397

  7. "Standard swap rules apply here. Toe tags, please. For those outside of the US, just add a few more flies and I will pick up the postage. Much easier, I think. Twelve tiers tying two (2) flies each for a total of 24 flies." was the original swap rule. We now have seven tiers. One had to drop out. Looking forward to seeing your flies.

  9. Just send me a self addressed and stamped envelope and I will send you back some great camel hair. Put enough postage for at least an ounce. (put three stamps on it) Thanks to Elph/Pete's wife who works with exotic animals at a college for folks studying how to work in zoos and animal parks. The hair is from the camel that sheds when the weather gets warm and from grooming. Makes great nymphs and is very, very buggy. Just got some back tied in nymphs from a swap and they are killer looking flies. The last batch went pretty quick. This stuff makes some very nice flies. For our friends around the world and in Canada....just send me your address and I will mail the fur to you. Send me a couple of flies that you make with the camel hair down the line. Trust me...it's easier and cheaper all the way around for everyone. Regards, Jim Jim Wilkins PO Box 584 Wrightwood, CA 92397 Moderator's....I seemed to have double posted and can't figure out how to delete one of them. Thanks

  12. Thanks for hosting, Steve. I know all about the hassles with post offices. Looking forward to the flies!
  13. Keep any extras I might have sent also. Thanks for posting the pics. My wife says that mine look like all the rest...for me, I'll take that as a compliment. Thank you for hosting!
  14. Thanks. Is this a new way of swapping? I've never gotten all the flies of one person (mine were awesome and already caught a fish!) before. Is there a name for it...Anyway, thanks for hosting a great swap.
  15. IS it still open or is it closed how many flies are we tying here?? Hop in. Tie 18 flies...9 each of two different flies or 18 of the same. I am all ready in I was just wondering how many to tie.. Chance sorry about that. Since there are eight tiers, tie 16 flies. I am juggling a few balls in the air and I drop some every so often....
