  1. I would definetly like to start collecting my own materials, I like going through Nick's things and seeing what he ties with. My dad showed me a grey horned owl that he found on the side of the road the other day, and I asked if I could have some feathers off of it, he laughed knowing that I wanted the feathers to tie a fly with. I am starting to get the urge to tie more often, and was thinking about possibly doing one of the swaps sometime. Im not quite sure where to begin with those. I dont want to start off with anything too crazy. Any suggestions?

    Hi

Oatka. I was very suprised to see that picture of me on the Hatches site... It was unexpected. The article was interesting too! Im still working on my 'Fishing Pictures' collection, as I only recently started fishing, so I only have a few. But here is one of the first time Puj ever took me fishing. We went out in his boat in the pouring rain in May, and I caught this walleye, As you can tell by the picture it is my first time EVER holding a fish  At that time I was so impressed with myself for even doing that and cathing a fish so big. lol. Now he has me walking in rivers minus waders w/ running shoes on, before he generously got me a pair of my own waders, and basically hugging 25lb fish. But I love it! My parents fish all the time, and in under a year I have already out fished my Mom, and I am now working on out fishing my Dad. As for Puj, I dont think I could ever out fish him, but I am happy to join at any time. I dont see any pics of you?? :shifty:
  3. Woven body eh? Looks good. hmmm.. Just wondering how long it took you to do? I like trying new things, but I dont have patience for flies that take a while.. :dunno:
  4. I must admit, Puj was standing over my shoulder guiding me while I was tying these flies, Im not sure how they would have ended up without him. And now that I have access to his materials.. I might just attempt to tie one myself, maybe following instructions from the magazine... I think I am going to frame them or at least put them in a safe place. I tied my very first fly quite sometime ago and I misplaced it, I wasn't too happy about that... and Im sure when I become an expert in a couple months.. that I will want to look back on these ones and laugh. Thanks for the comments guys!
  5. As requested, I finally got some pictures taken of my first few flies that I recently tied.
  6. BEER, FISHING, GOLF & SEX: A man was walking down the street when he was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking homeless man who asked him for a couple of dollars for dinner. The man took out his wallet, extracted ten dollars and asked, "If I give you this money, will you buy some beer with it instead of dinner?" "No, I had to stop drinking years ago," the homeless man replied. "Will you use it to go fishing instead of buying food?" the man asked. "No, I don't waste time fishing," the homeless man said. "I need to spend all my time trying to stay alive." "Will you spend this on greens fees at a golf course instead of food?" The man asked. "Are you NUTS!" replied the homeless man. "I haven't played golf in 20 years!" "Will you spend the money on a woman in the red light district instead of food?" the man asked. "What disease would I get for ten lousy bucks?" exclaimed the homeless man. "Well," said the man, "I'm not going to give you the money. Instead, I'm going to take you home for a terrific dinner cooked by my wife." The homeless man was astounded. "Won't your wife be furious with you for doing that? I know I'm dirty, and I probably smell pretty disgusting." The man replied, "That's okay. It's important for her to see what a man looks like after he has given up beer, fishing, golf, and sex."

    Hi

I placed my first fly that I tied in a special place, so that I would be able to find it, and unfortunatley I dont remember where that place is. So last night I tied 3 flies, putting my total to 4!!! Oatka & InConnu, as soon as I get picture of them I will attach. Smallie, Here is a pic of Puj during one of our fishing trips!

    Hi

Hi Everyone Until a few months ago I had no idea what ‘fly’ fishing was. But special thanks to my boyfriend, an avid fly fisher, whom some of you may know as ‘Pujic’ on this site, I am now interested in the sport. I have only tied one fly so far, and have only used a fly fishing rod on a couple occasions, with the guidance of Puj of course. Seeing how flies are made, makes them that much more incredible to me. And seeing how people are so compassionate about fly tying/fishing makes me want to become more involved. I hope and cannot wait to learn lots of new things. Nicole.
