SBPatt 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2017 Interesting pattern from Bruce Staples' Flies for the Greater Yellowstone Area; tied here with no specific hatch in mind. hook - Dai Riki 280 #10 thread - Danville 6/0 brown butt/abdomen - dubbing brown/olive underwing - Congo Hair brown wing - mottled turkey quill hackle - grizzly dyed brown overwing/head - deer hair dyed dark dun mash barb/start thread, wrap to bend dub thread/dub butt tie biot on either side of the thread ball dub abdomen tie in CH; trim coat turkey quill with vinyl cement; separate segment, trim to shape, tie in/trim tie in hackle, wrap, tie off/trim; leave some space up front for top wing/head clean, stack, measure (halfway down abdomen) a clump of deer hair; trim/tie in whip finish, SHHAN Regards, Scott Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
