Traded rods for camera today...

Recommended Posts

Very nice pictures. Love those Wood Storks.

Hate those Cormorants, but the pictures are still great.

Not a cormorant, but an anhinga or “snake bird”.

I took a bunch of wildlife pics today, including a couple of a cormorant, but they resized still too large for the forum.

You're correct ... it's Anhingas we have here.

Here in Central Florida, fishing can be fantastic in small ponds and lakes. Then arrives large population of the birds. You can still catch some fish for a while. Once the birds move on, the fishing will suck for a year or more. They can't swallow larger fish, but we still see them floating ... looking like they've been shot with a .22.

Some States have permits to kill some every year because of the damage they do to fisheries.

Your pictures are cool shots, though, Bimini. Nice trade.

Here are a few more that I shrunk to upload size. I guess I deleted the cormorant and cul de canard ones.

This is at the Wakodahatchee wetlands, a nature preserve where the water utilities department reclaims water through natural filtering. This time of year it is full of nesting birds. Cranes are so abundant they are almost a nuisance.

No! It was a figurative trade for the day.

Instead of going one way with the rods I went the other with the camera.

Glad you like them.
