Most commercial "fly factories" around the world are worked solely by female tyers.. The flies I receive royalties on are all done that way by Umpqua Feather Merchants in Asia at various locations....

You can find cheaper flies coming out of other places (like Kenya) as well - but many don't actually work very well since none of the tyers actually fly fish - and the effort is strictly about quantity for sale - at the cheapest cost possible.... and have little to do at all about whether they actually perform (or hold together after a cast or two...).
