Been struggling to get mine done. They are now, however and will get in the mail Today if possible or Monday. Sorry for the delay. They were rusty rats and a bit more complex than I thought. Had to do a lot of extras to get 12 I'm happy with. I kept forgetting the tail or....

The white one is a flesh fly. Here in Oregon, with the Salmon and Steelhead spawn, it's a good pattern. The bead allows it to be used as an egg sac as well. The rabbit strip is "two tone cotton candy" put out by Hairline. It's tied like a Zonker. I saw it at a local fly shop, NW Fly fishing Outfitters and just had to tie some up.

Essentially woven brassies, I call them a "sinker". Those were hot pink sinkers... I started tying them when I was trying to learn the weaving process and liked them, so I kept making them. I just put a bead on before doing his training pattern. I did some similar for the Monthly swap club and added a peacock herl thorax, next month will be the soft hackle version..

Only thing I'd add here is that taxidermists are not in the habit of working with illegal animals. They would loose their business license as well as the fines, prison, etc... They typically know the laws of their business. The likelihood of accidentally getting illegal animal parts from one is VERY slim.
