Recommended Posts

This complete custom IM8 10wt Package Musky rod for a customer in Minnesota for throwing giant flies for huge fish. Topped the custom rod off with a custom sock and O-ring sealed tube. Rod has brown wraps with bright metallic copper trim, burl mix grip & extended butt for figure 8'ing by the side of the boat. Dual strippes/snake guides and a carbon fiber reel seat top it off.

That's insanely light for a rod of that caliber! For the fish of 10,000 casts, that weight will make a huge difference! And that blank is a stunner

It would probably be down around 5.6 or there abouts with all natural cork. Burl cork is slightly heavier, but it is more durable (and looks nice) so the slight 1/4 oz is worth it IMO.
