  1. Thanks, man. I'm going trout fishing today for the first time in a year. Exactly a year, in fact. At about 8:30am one year ago I was fishing on the Rifle somewhere below Sage Lake Road and landed an 11 1/2 inch brown on an Adams. I missed him on the first cast to the tip of a sweeper from ankle deep water, so I let him rest for a few minutes. I dropped the fly just upstream of the sweeper and as it hit the eddy at the tip of the sweeper, he boiled the water. After a short fight on my 4wt, he was swimming back upstream to his hole. Hope to do that again today, somewhere down here.
  2. Well, now that my pup is on his way to being "trained" I'm starting to have time to fish and tie flies again. Maybe even join some swaps.... SHR Rigby's Tonkin Trout Grass aka Tonka I look forward to connecting with those of you I've missed and maybe meeting some new folks....
  3. Got mine a couple days ago. Looking good, folks. Thanks, BB, great swap as always!
  4. Well, he'll still get to play with the wings, just no blue feathers.... I plucked some for myself, too. BTW, keep the extra flies, too.
  5. Aww, man, here I was hopin' for one o' them big ol' deer hair frogs.... j/k, RRSS, they look good to me.
  6. Purple Damsel. This work for a floater? Hairline purple pearl core braid, purple craft foam, parachute post of Uni Glow Yarn for night fishing, and hackle (badger maybe, I forget?). Oh, yeah, round foam eyes I'm leaving white so you can color them with whatever color Sharpie you want. The chironomid is a chromie, at least that's what I call them. -OPK (I've seen posts by an imposter "PK")
  7. Good grief, what kind of sharpshooter do you think I am? And the mallard wings need to be saved for (get ready for the fly tying heresy) the new pup's bird training. Oh, BTW, the floater is a damselfly, and I'll be needin' your address yet again, in case I can't find it from the last several times. - OPK (Original PK)
  8. Let's see, last April, ruptured disc in the c-spine, then physical therapy, then goose season, then duck season, then deer season, duck season, late goose season, and here we are!
  9. Hey, BB, what's this swap thing y'all are doing? J/k, got space for me? I always like your swaps....some sort of hopper/cricket/beetle/damsel with a chironomid dropper, if that's ok... PK

  11. No decision yet. I'm still lurking and reading the posts. We probably won't decide until the pup is home.
