Hopper Caddis SBS

Found this on the Uni products site. Original had a Madam X half-head; I prefer standard bullet. Tied here as an October Caddis; change color/size to suit your needs.

 

 

hook Dai Riki 300 #8

thread/rib - UTC 140 burnt orange

body - 1mm foam

shellback - 2mm foam rust

head/wing - deer hair

legs - medium rubber brown

indicator - 1mm foam orange

 

 

Mash barb, start thread at head

Clean, stack, measure (hook length + gap) a clump of deer hair; trim butts, tie in with 2 soft loops, spin, trim butts

Tie in 2mm foam strip (3/4 gap width), wrap to bend

Brush top of body with Super Glue, pull shellback forward; tie down/trim
