  1. Thanks for the info! I can't remember what all specifically it was tied with, but it had either peacock swords or marabou as a tail, and I believe peacock swords tied in toward the front of the fly. Like I said, it sord of resembled a damsel nymph to me, but I'm not 100% certain.
  2. I was just wondering if any one had any information on a fly called 'The Weber Fly'. A gentleman last spring was catching fish left and right with this pattern. It appeared like a damsel fly larvae with peacock swords tied in as tails. If anyone has any information on this pattern, I'd be forever gracious, as it bears my last name The guy who told me about it said they call it the Weber fly because it is a great fly to use on the Weber River in Utah. If anyone has any information available for it, please let me know!
  3. Thank you for the welcome! So you are from down near Pittsburgh? Are there any good places to go down that way? I'm from Sharon.
  4. Well the fall run this year IMO was not that much to write home about, but it was a busy fall. I'll be out when the creeks open back up!
  5. Very nice flies! Did you completely start on your own or did you take a class? I took a class about this time last year, and while my flies still look like crap, they do indeed catch fish and I guess that's all that matters!
  6. I'm new to tying myself, and I agree with you, that it certainly is not easy!
  7. Yes, I joined last year. Sorry for such a long delay to message on this board. I'm 28 years old, finishing my graduate degree, and I also coach football. When I DO get the time I hit the local trout streams and when the steelies are runnin up in Erie I try to get up there any chance I get!
  8. I was just sending a message to all to say hi, and that I'm glad that there is such a great collection of people passionate about fly fishing! I am new (assumedly by some of your standards) to fly fishing (this is my 3rd year), and to fly tying (going on year 2). I look forward to soaking up as much information as I possibly can from all of you!
  9. How is the fly fishing out there in UT? Heard good things about it, but never chatted with anyone actually from UT about it. I was thinking of moving out there, but I'm not moving anywhere unless the fly fishing is superb!
