  1. Without question the early Spring Green Caddis and the Fall October Caddis are my two most favorite hatches to fish on moving water. ~Mark~
  2. Neat idea...your wings are beautiful! So do you fold the plastic and then clip the top open edge with your clamp thingy? Or are there two separate pieces that you clamp together? Thanks for sharing this help! ~Mark~
  3. javascript:emoticon('') Thanks for the welcome Mike! I'm starting to post now so that I don't remain a bait fisherman...LOL. Love this site already... ~Mark~
  4. I've used many different kinds of boxes over the years, from Wheatley to altoid tins, but, by far and away, my favorite and current boxes are all C&F. They keep your flies neat and separated, the wind doesn't blow them out like open compartment boxes, and although I haven't used the water proof ones yet, they will keep your flies dry even if you drop the box in the water. Then you just have to move fast to retrieve it before it floats away. javascript:emoticon('') ~Mark~
  5. Hello Everyone! My name is Mark River McKenzie and I live in Colorado Springs, CO. I moved here from the West coast, where I was used to fishing large freestone rivers, like the Deschutes, the McKenzie and the Umpqua. I've been flyfishing since 1994 and tying just about as long. Got into tying thinking I would save money on flies...hahahaha, that's a rich joke for sure! javascript:emoticon(':hyst:') But I love to tie flies and stand in freestone rivers flinging flies. A great day is one with no wind, some shade, rises everywhere and an occasional fish to hand. I'm a solitary angler, but enjoy company on the way to and from my fishing destinations. I love to tie flies with others in small groups, but don't know anyone in the area, yet, that ties. Always looking to learn new fly patterns, new techniques and play with new materials. Oh yeah, and I'm 55 and retired, live with my lovely Bride of 5 years, our beloved dogs and cats. Life is good! ~Mark~
  6. Hey I just noticed under my name that it says I'm a bait fisherman....NO WAY....haven't done that in years and years. How do I change that? I've fished with my own tied flies for about the last 10-12 years. ~Mark~
  7. Looks great and I'm looking forward to the premier issue, like all these other guys. Congrats on this new venture...hope you get as much out of doing it as I'm sure we're all going to get out of reading/studying it.
