Thank you.  I like the material flytire used better ... but I don't have any with me.  Maybe the marabou will move for the "sign of life" motion.

Li'l Dave, that's a nice sunfish, but it's distinctiveness, what kind is it. Nice fish.

Thanks mate, Goes by the name of Sooty Grunter. The gold and bronze hues on these guys are spectacular and they are a fantastic tropical freshwater target here in Australia.

That thing looks just like a sunfish here in the States but it doesn't have the color ours do. PS, I meant "indistinct" not "distinctiveness"

Thanks retro and vicente, I think they are my best to date too. I have been paying a lot more attention to detail. The other tiers around here make you a better tier.

Just had a crack at Barry Ordes hot spot gammarus ( highlighted by Flytire )
Didn't have all the materials and decided to tie it a little different from the original
I think it might fish ok

Could probably been a bit slimmer in profile and maybe use dubbing for the legs

Hook - Nymph/wet style

Thread - Black

Body - Moose mane

Hackle - Squirrel guard hairs in a dubbing loop

Apply a swipe of crazy glue to the thread wraps before wapping the moose mane or overcoat the body with uv resin

You'll have to fish that scud, Retro.  Let me know if it works.  Yours look much better, but they say ugly flies catch fish, so if yours work ... mine should, too!
