A hackled Comparadun; playing around with tying sequence. Supposedly eastern brookie bait; this should also work for cutts.

 

hook Dai Riki 300 #10

thread - UTC 140 burnt orange/Danville 6/0 red

tail - deer hair dyed orange

body - peacock herl/red thread mid-section

wing - deer hair dyed orange

hackle - grizzly

 

 

 

Mash barb, start thread at hook point, wrap to bend

Clean, stack, measure (shank length) a small clump of deer hair; trim butts/tie in

Move thread to 3/4 mark; clean, stack, measure (hook length) a thicker clump of deer hair, trim butts/tie in

Pull back 1/3 of deer hair, tie down

Scott, great tye. I've never done a wing with that particular technique. I have always tyed in front of the wing to stand it up-right and then dividing it, I can see how this technique would be faster.
