This is a rod that I made for my GF. We are heading out in a few weeks on vacation.

We're going to Bath Co. Virginia for a long weekend and fishing the Jackson River.
There's a get together there and we're having an auction for Project Healing Waters.
After that, we are headed to the Smokys for a week of small stream fishing.

This is built on a pink blank from Roger. A 7ft 6in ~ 4wt ~ 4pc.

Carbon fiber grip. (Thanks Baitwaister!)

Holographic guides and reel seat hardware.
I turned the reel seat insert from a pen blank from a local store.

The wraps are white silk to make transparent wraps with black tipping.
I coated the wraps first with some thinned epoxy.
The second coat had opalescent glitter mixed in it.
A third, thin coat was put on to smooth over any glitter that was on the surface of the second coat.

To boot, I found a reel that matches the rod pretty well.

It's a pretty blingy looking rod, but she picked out the colors and hardware.
That's what she wanted, so that's what she got. She loves it.
