Hi all.

I recently built this rod as a donation to the Casting For Recovery weekend retreat held at Owen River Lodge near Murchison, here in the south island of New Zealand.

The blank is an 8'6, 5 weight CTS Affinity MX, and was kindly donated by Stephen Pratt at CTS. The fittings were donated by Steve Gerard from Flyshop New Zealand, and I built the handle using cork from my stock here at home.

This rod went to one of the ladies at the retreat, and she was thrilled. The look on her face when she found out she was getting a fly rod was worth a million bucks. I'm pleased I could be a part of something so worthwhile.
