RBF: Thread Recommendations
Posted 16 April 2014 - 03:40 PM
First post. Started building ice rods this past winter and graduated on to a 6'6" MHX walleye rod and a 14' MHX centerpin rod. I am now planning on making a couple downrigger rods for trolling for salmon on Lake Michigan. I want to use "rasta" colors for the wraps and overall rod theme. Long story short I'm here calling on some professionals for recommendations for thread brands and specific colors. I want the colors to match the photos below as close as possible without changing when finish is applied. I'm planning on using FC lite as I have used it with success in the past. I'm thinking about doing a yellow underwrap under the double foot guides with green on one side and red on the other.
Current Rod Specs:
8'6" MHX downrigger rod blank (DR1024-MHX)
Green and Red Hypalon grips
American Tackle Gold Heavy-Duty Aluminum reel seat
