Fly Tying

Here is a SBS that may be of interest to some. Call it the COAF San Juan Worm Ball. Mentioned it on another thread about the San Juan Worm Ball; found out it was an old topic. That said, since there wan not a thread in the SBS forum, decided to post the details here. Worked well on Catfish in a small canal at our local pond. Do check out the videos in the link to the SBS details showing the worm ball in action. It is a simple tie with minimal material needed!

Great time at TRWD Flyfest in Fort Worth today. Used the San Juan Worm Ball and a trailing nymph to get them to strike; was going well till I ran out after losing them to break offs! Today's Pictures.

Finished editing the video from Saturday. After a number of missed strikes and break offs using the tandem rigged San Juan Worm Ball and trailing nymph, was able to land only one before running out of the pattern. Remainder were caught using a variant of the Near Deere or the Near Deere. Saturday's Video.
