Thanx Dave G.! Was looking for pontoon boat prices over here & found a place not that fare away selling all TFO blanks & everything else needed, it got the brain ticking even more! Would plan on watching any & all videos first & replace a broken guide on a spin rod that hasen't seen the light of day in a looooong time!

That's how I started, Adam. Guide replacement.  Watch out it gets catchy !

Edit: by catchy I mean contagious.

RBF has a guide chart.  I suggest you tape the guides in place with masking tape, run a line through the guides with the line attached to something.  I use a nail on the deck steps.  Put a load on the rod and look at the line and the blank.  They should run parallel.  If the line touches the blank, reposition the guides or add guides if necessary.  I have found the guide chart to be very accurate.

Registration is shut down for now. We opened it back up a few months ago and when we did it was getting hundreds of spam posters per day for some reason so had to turn it back off. Sorry.

... it was getting hundreds of spam posters per day for some reason ...

Um ... because it's a "ROD BUILDING forum" .

The adolescent part of my brain (which Wife says is abnormally large at my age) immediately goes to the porn application.

I'll bet it does the same for many ... it's a magnet for spammers and perverts.

Sorry ... the name is never going to be left alone.  If you could change it to "FISHING rod building forum" it might last longer without all the hits.

I know this is and old thread, but iv been trying to get on the rod building form and it says that all FTF members already have an account but I type in my name and pass, but it says it’s wrong. So I tried to create a new account but it says it’s not taking any new members. So what do I need to do to get an account on that form anyone have any ideas. Thanks
