whatfly 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2017 Those will work but next time try wine cork. A bit more buoyant than foam, cork is a bit more fragile but I have found it to be more effective. Some put a drop of fabric paint on the top because they tend to float pretty low in the water and are hard to see at a reasonable distance. I like using 1XF hooks for pellets (TMC2487), and I'm curious how well yours will float using what looks like a pretty heavy hook. This kind of pattern is most effective if the fish are new stockers or still being fed (i.e. in a pay-to-play setting where the fish must be fed to survive). Of course catching stockers is really not that much of a challenge, but there's a certain guilty pleasure one gets from using such a seemingly heretical pattern. Guest Report post Posted June 30, 2017 Great times here after they open the dam gates/start generating thus shutting the Norfolk down in the afternoon letting kids use your stuff that show up to tour the hatchery. Truly a unique place! https://theozarkflyfisher.com/our-waters/dry-run-creek/
