  1. Ah, now the pic shows up for me. The 007 is also very effective tied with a bead head.
  2. The photo doesn't come up for me. The 007 was designed by a mate of mine, Ken Orr who is Australia's longest running and most respected Trout Guide, Ken didn't have a name for the nymph until a Scottish client was having a top day with fish climbing all over it, he turned to Ken after his 8th or 9th fish and said "crikey lad this thing is a license to kill" as in James bond and so the 007 was christened. It's a truelly deadly pattern
  3. A new addition to the fly pattern database has been submitted by The Tassie Devil: 007 Nymph
  4. G'day DHise, yes mate, I was over there last year, with a group of friends, it was mind blowing, you've got to love those Bones.
  5. If you are going to Christmas Island, simple and sparse is the best. Size 6 hook body: orange pearl crystal Flash Tail: 4 strands of orange pearl Crystal Flash Wing: 4 strands of orange pearl Crystal Flash Eyes: medium gold bead chain or dumb bell eyes Thread: fluro orange the guides at the Captain Cook hotel recomend this simple tie above all opthers.
  6. Yes mate, I only joined a couple of weeks ago, I'm also on the the Fly Life forum.
  7. Great job Mason, one little piece of advice, I'm presuming that your wooly Worm is based on the MK 2 wooly Bugger , if so the tail does have to be a bit longer and the orange side flashes shorter and fuller, about a quarter of the length of the black tail, keep up the good work. The original MK 2 was also tied with a darker olive green body.
  8. About 23 years for me, I actually learnt to tie before I even owned a fly rod, I've always been around fishing and hunting from when I was born. I new my uncle flyfished and so when a tying class was offered as an activity in high school, I thought I'd give it a go, so thousands odf dollars and flies later I still love it, I even do a bit of small scale profesional tying.
  9. We've got some top water Rick, New Zealand gets all the press down south, our fish are a bit smaller on the average, but I think more of a challenge.
  10. Thanks for the welcome Service Tech
  11. Hello all, I'm from Tasmania, the trout fishing capital of Australia
