Glad to find this forum

Recommended Posts

I just found the forum. I live in Springfield Oregon, near the Willamette and McKenzie Rivers. Have lived here for the majority of my adult life. I grew up in Western Montana and still have a love for the state. Have been tying flies for over 40 years now (yes, I am one of those guys).

I fish mostly in coastal rivers, Pacific Ocean and lakes here in the PNW. I do a lot of fishing from my boat, a Hewscraft.

My wife and I have been married almost 46 years. I am a retired firefighter and served 30 years. Also did a hitch in the military and had the privilege of being in Vietnam 67-68. ha!

Besides fishing my wife and I do a fair amount of traveling around in our Big Horn 5th wheel.

I collect guns, primarily reproduction cap and ball retrievers however I pick up an original occasionally.

Also dabble at collecting Sharps firearms and muzzle loading firearms. I have a fondness for flintlocks.

Additionally I shoot weekly, cast bullets, reload etc.

My bride and I have 2 children, boy/girl twins. They are grown. Our daughter has 3 children. The oldest will be 20 tomorrow! Boy how did that happen?

Our son has two teenage daughters.

I am looking forward to leaning a lot of information from you folks and maybe even contribute a bit myself.

Terry Jack

Welcome to the site.

With that bio ... I doubt there's a whole lot to learn. However, you've chosen the right site ... some of the members here remember the last Ice Age. I believe there's always something to learn, and these guys know it.

That being said ... I, for one, will be very interested to hear/read your contributions. Wife and I don't drive a motor home, but we have been to all 50 United States ... something we're quite thrilled about.

Again, welcome to the site.

Likewise, welcome.

but if you want members to know about you beyond the next couple of days, (and this is intended for all recent new members that may be reading this), it would be a good idea to go to your profile and put that information there. It is often helpful to go to the profile of someone who posts a question, to find out more about the person, such as where they come from, what they prefer to fish for, etc. This introductory thread will only be visible for a few days at best.

I agree with Mike... let's see some of your flies that you find to be good fish catchers (post in the tying bench section).
