Autumn East European Flies- The Skinny CDC flies

Hi guys,

 

Recently I was the host for a few US fellows curious to fish in Transylvania. We fish using rods in size #3 or even #2 due to small rivers and small fish. The waters are very clear in August and September and fish are extremely shy and careful with what the pick from surface. The most effective flies are small skinny CDC ones. Without these you will not have a rise . They had to change from stimulator type of flies and super dense flies on more delicate ones. They where very happy and curios to test them in their local rivers.

So I was thinking to share these simple flies here on the forum

Very clean ties. Just goes to show complex with lots of materials isnt always needed. A friend keeps telling me he knows a stream where a hook with red thread will outdo any I tie though he is always greatful to get a fresh supply of my latest ties.

 

Great looking flies that will eventually see a place in my fly box.
