What you see on the screen is a thumbnail.  Click on the picture and you'll get the full size version.  

 

I was at a distance of about 2 feet when I took the picture, but they've been cropped and resized.  I, personally, think they're close up enough.

Yes, and the pictures are not blurry. And the background is not busy.
