  1. The problem I'm having is that i don't have any fly shops around me with the exception of Orvis, so i am unable to try different rods out. I have been considering just getting a Orvis for the fact the i can go to the store and try them out. Ive heard good things about the Recon.
  2. I have been doing a lot of research into getting an 8 wt rod. I have narrowed it down to a TFO BVK and a Redington Vapen. Any thoughts on either or any other good contenders? I will be using it for carp, bass, red fish and small strippers.
  3. I decided to go with the foam cup, good benefit of having a cup of coffee first.
  4. Im in, ill be tying size 18 Brassie's
  5. I know that I could have bought several big boxes full of files for what I have spent on tools & supplies. But then I wouldn't have the satisfaction of creating things. It is an enjoyable hobby and gives you something to do when you can't fish. I agree, just started this winter and spend well over $300 and only have about 40 flies to show for it so far. Of coarse i have the materials for about 200 more.
  6. I am new to the site and would love to do a swap. Would appreciate it if someone could start a swap. Not anything too crazy as i am just starting to tie. Thank you
  7. Bugsy- thats exactly what I'm asking. I want to be able to do 10 at one time so i won't be able to do that on my vice.
