The problem I am having is I am logged on but when I go to classic salmon board I it kicks me out and then I am unable to login. I have a question about golden crest to ask but I am unable to get to the classic salmon board. Please HELP Thanks
  2. Hello:: I am 25 years old from South Louisiana. I am a Lead production Operator on an offshore production platform. I am also a police officer on my 7 days off from offshore. I am a breeder of exotic pheasant, ducks, pigeons and chuckers. I have about 280 animals which include raccoon, 9'3" Burmese python, 2 dogs, umbrela cockatoo, and the rest birds. I am also Captin of the local fire department and put on the local dog show. I just start tying flies about 6 months ago. and now I am hooked. Bud says where do I find time to do all of it But I have a surportive wife and child that incourage me to always beter myself. Here is a little about myself. Jean Thibodaux
  3. Bud and I decided to go on a fly fishing trip behind our house. The place we went is called Clovley Land. The morning started of at 5:30 were Bud met me at my house. He then followed me to the boat launch which is 5 min. from my house. We first tried a place wich had a bunch of lilly pads. Of course Bud caught the first fish on a poper top water fly (yellow) it was a perch. Then I hooked myself tying on a fly then my little boy tangeled his line. I then finally caught my first fish which was also a perch. Then my little boy tangeled his line again, come to find out he was tring to cast his Zebco rod and reel like a fly line just to be like his dad and uncle Bud. All together we caught 16 perch, 7 bass, and a sun burn. Oh I forgot there was the one time that Bud and I cast our lines at the same time and the tippets were so tangeled that we had to cut them free and tie in some new one. It was Bud's fault!!! My wife , Little boy and myself went back the following day and I caught 10 more perch and 5 more bass. I also did not tangle my line that is because Bud was not there. HEHE Jean Thibodaux The perch KILLER
  4. Blueman, I live about 2 miles from Bud. Almost every weekend Bud and myself are in the swamps of the bayou. We are either fishing, froging, are riding the atv's. I have never seen anything but the is a myth of the roux-ga-roux which is what we call the monstor is alive. I always tell my youngen that if he wonders off the roux-ga-roux will get him. Also in the swap part of the Audabon Zoo in New Orleans there is a part veiwing of a swamp monstor and there is also a little story about him. The monted monstor stands about 9' So is it fiction or fact I guess it is as true as big foot, Some beleave and some don't. This is the opinion of a coon a** (cajun) from the bayou. Jean Thibodaux
  5. For my senior prome years ago my date had a dress that was low cut to the back and strapless. So her and her Mom decided to use duct tape to hold her (you know what in place) and let me tell you see did not like it at all when I had to take it off at the end of the night. See was marked for about to days. That is the weirdest thing I have see duct tape used for
  6. When I was a child We were fish for big red fish in the gulf Of Mexico. I saw some jack fish swimming next to the boat so I drew my pole back and cast foward but the lure did not hit the water so I jurked again still nothing so I jurked on last time and that is when I heared my mother let out a little sqick. That's when I looked back to notice a hook hanking from my mother's nose with a little slice going down from her nose. My Dad came across that boat and %$@*&^$% BEEP, BEEP. Now I always look back before I cast. Jean Thibodaux
  7. Hey Steeldrifter: I think if I try to cast in this wind I would follow the bait in HEHE. We had a hand line set last night. When we woke up this morning it looked like a fly line. It was out the water 20' just blowing in the wind. Jean Thibodaux
  8. Hey fellows The tropical storm Arlene has just pased over me. I am offshore on a platform for Apache Corp. The winds are 60 to 65 mph and the seas this morning were at about 15 to 20 feet waves. Too windy to work so I have been tying up some flies. Being the boss has its advantages, Kind of hard to tie in ribbing when the whole platform is shaking. Having a ball. Hey Bud you ready for Nina, Devin and myself to go over for another Hurricane Party? HEHE Thanks for the concerns fellows Jean Thibodaux

  10. I am the friend that Bud was talking about that has the baby raccoon. We feed her every 3 hours and have to pet it to sleep after every feeding. My 6 year old son loves to play with it. I also intoduced it to all the other animals I have and that is about 200 all together. They make great pets. Jean Thibodaux

  12. Hello Fellows: I am going camping this weekend and there is a fresh water pond at this camping resort. I was woundering what is the best fly bait to use is this pond to catch bass? Everyone uses spiner baites and I think the fish caught on that there is a hook in that bait. I never heard of anyone fly fishing their. Please help!!! Thanks Jean Thibodaux
  13. Hello to all. I am pretty new to the fly tying world. I live deep in the South of Louisiana from a town named Cut Off. I am 25 years old and have been married for 5 wounderfull years and to this day I still thank my wife and 6 year old son for surporting all my hobbies. I have only been tying for about 4 to 5 months now. I tied 14 flies all being Atlantic Salmon patterns. I am placing my last creation on the forum under atlantic salmon and steelhead. My mentored is not only by my best friend but one of the best fly tiers in my book. This being no other than Bud Guidry. We raise all sorts of birds together and now his fly tying has rubbed off on me. My wife says we can no longer hang out because we have to much in common and he is costing me to much I am just starting so please feel free to cretquie me in any way. The only way I can succeed is to get advice from the best and I know this forum got them. Thanks Jean Thibodaux
